Professional liability insurance
Pursuant to Sec. 51 of the German Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO), lawyers are required to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 250,000.00 per claim. The law firm Dr. Wunsch maintains professional liability insurance that exceeds these requirements, with coverage of EUR 500,000.00 per claim/EUR 1 million per insurance year with R+V Allgemeine Versicherungs AG, Raiffeisenplatz 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany. The insurance coverage does not apply to liability claims in connection with advising on and dealing with non-European law.
Online dispute resolution:
The competent consumer arbitration board in Germany for financial disputes arising from a client relationship is the Arbitration Board of the Bar Association, Neue Grünstraße 17, 10179 Berlin, www.schlichtungsstelle-der-rechtsanwaltschaft.de. As with any other law firm, there is no obligation to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Kanzlei Dr. Wunsch does not participate in such online arbitration proceedings. In the event that a disagreement cannot be resolved, Kanzlei Dr. Wunsch offers internal dispute resolution.
